Food Grade FIBC's
All food grade FIBC's supplied by LBK are produced to AIB, BRC and HACCP standards to ensure they are fit for packing foodstuffs for human consumption. The bags are manufactured in clean rooms using state of the art ultrasonic cutting and sewing equipment and undergo a number of quality checks to eliminate the possibility of contamination in the bags. Once the bags have passed the quality checks they are packed onto pallets and completely covered to prevent any risk of contamination during transit from the factory to the customer. These can be supplied with food grade liners either tabbed, stitched or loose in the bag.
Baffle Bags (Q Bags)
Standard FIBCs can bulge when filled and therefore take up an increased amount of space. With ‘Q’ Bags an internal support baffle is sewn across each corner to help maintain a cubic shape.
Heat-cut holes in the baffles ensure the smooth flow of material into the corners during filling and discharging. Once filled the' Q' bag will be more stable than a standard FIBC.
In addition to a standard FIBC Q Bag we also offer bags with internal Q Liners for more liquid or finer type products where stability is required but a standard Q Bag allows leakage through the seams of the bag or stitching. An FIBC produced with a Q Liner will overcome this problem and still allow the increase in stability.
Conductive FIBC's
LBK Packaging supply Type C and D conductive FIBC's as part of our diverse product range. Type C Conductive bags require grounding whereas Type D uses specially produced interwoven threads which make it no longer possible to ignite a flammable propane air atmosphere with discharge from the FIBC.
T
ype B in which the FIBC wall fabric has a breakdown voltage of less than 4 kV in order to prevent the occurrence of propagating brush discharges. These can be used in the presence of potentially flammable dust atmospheres provided its ignition energy is greater than ca. 3 mJ.
Type C which are constructed using a wall fabric, that has a resistance to earth from any location on the FIBC, including the slings, of less than 108 W. Such FIBCs, provided they are adequately grounded during use, are suitable for use in the presence of any potentially flammable atmosphere, either dust and gas or vapor.
Type D involves the use of a woven polypropylene fabric containing interwoven special threads. In recent laboratory tests it was no longer possible to ignite a flammable propane air atmosphere with discharges from the FIBC fabric itself.
If you are unsure which FIBC you require or have a specific use in mind please call our experienced sales team on 0151 547 5380, email sales@lbkpackaging.co.uk or complete the online enquiry form.
